Entre los vinos blancos cabe destacar los famosos *Vinhos Verdes, elaborados con uvas vendimiadas prematuramente y no completamente maduradas. 

 The red and white *Vinho Verde wines produced in this rainwashed region just south of the Minho river which forms the border wit Spain are well designed to be drunk when still young and fresh. Les plus connus des *Vinho verde sont des vins blancs, vif, légeres et perlants; il délivrent des arômes discrets, différnts selon les cépages d'où ils sont issus: fruités pour le cépage alvarinho (surtout celui de Monçao), floraux et minéraux pour le loureiro, plus moelleux pour le trajadura.

Definición Vino ligero y punzante elaborado en el norte de Portugal. Light, acidic, often slightly sparkling and highly distinctive wine whose name means "green wine", a reference to the youthful state in which it is customarily sold. Leur nom indique que ses crus doivent être bus jeunes, dès le printemps suivant la récolte.
